Software Engineering
Bachelor course, taught since 2015–2016.
Instructor: Coen De Roover
A systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approach to developing, operating, and maintaining large software products, spanning process models (plan-driven vs. agile), lightweight formal design with Alloy and design-by-contract, professional practices such as configuration and release management and CI/CD, software testing (unit, integration, functional, and coverage-based test adequacy), and metrics for assessing implementations. Assessed through theory exams and a group project that extends an existing Scala codebase.
Taught continuously since the 2015–2016 academic year. See the VUB course catalog (Caliweb) for the current syllabus and schedule.
